This is, in a way, trying to achieve the same things as [link] . I think I've really matured in the five years since I did that, and it shows. For me, it's very easy to do boring 'safe' colors. In this piece I think I managed to get the colors to what I call 'dangerous'. Just a little bit of dissonance to make you pay attention.
Yeah, the colors look great! The yellows give me this vague sense of... something not-quite-right, while the other colors are pretty happy and vibrant. That combined with the flowers - which are generally happy imagery - and the vein-like structures - which, like the yellow, make the image feel just a little creepy - makes for a really interesting image! I love it.
Sweet! The veins creep me out a little but I love the organic shapes here. I think I get what you said about safe colors... the palette does seem a little unusual to me. Works great still.
